![]() Required to have considerable knowledge and understanding of the Palmer Municipal Code to include Administrative and Personnel, Animal, Health and Safety and Traffic Code.Keep a suspense file on reports, post-exposure follow-up, certification expirations, supplies, etc.Establish, maintain and update file records to include medical, accounts payable, training, animal licensing, dangerous animal, bicycle and general office files.Set up, coordinate and prepare all travel, travel authorizations, per diem and travel expense reports for the Palmer Police Department.Maintain and schedule the Chief of Police’s calendar, making appointments for the Chief of Police and for other administrative personnel within the Palmer Police Department.Assist the Chief of Police as directed, to include handling general office duties, specific projects, receptionist duties and secretarial and administrative support.This position, due to its public nature, requires a person who is characterized by courtesy, tact, multitasking skills and integrity. The Administrative Assistant coordinates and tracks hiring processes for new employees. Provide secretarial and scheduling support for the Chief. This position tracks incoming legislative changes to provide updates to department personnel. The Administrative Assistance is expected to perform a variety of highly skilled secretarial and administrative tasks. The position is more generalized than specialized to support the Chief of Police in areas of budgeting, administration, reception, secretarial and personnel. ![]() Sensitive position requires clerical skills, administrative skills and technical work of a confidential nature.
